Dear Mark Sanchez - Please Don't Ruin The Super Bowl

The Jets earned the Cinderella tag yesterday by beating the San Diego Chargers in the AFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. He also helped put the Jets one win away from a Super Bowl berth.

And with that, the New York Jets are now also one win away from ruining the Super Bowl.

Maybe you haven't had a chance to let this sink in yet, but could you imagine having to sit through a Super Bowl where the Jets are getting manhandled by the Saints or Vikings? Do you realize how painful it's going to be to watch that game? Not only will the Jets likely be out-matched by either NFC opponent, but let’s not forget the style of old school football they play. Tough defense, low-scoring, and lots of running plays are only fun to watch if you’re a fan of the team that's running it. Everyone else watching is just bored to death.

In case Nacho doesn't self destruct, pressure will be on the Colts:

1) They have the ability to save the biggest game of the year with a win. A Colts vs Saints/Vikings Super Bowl would be a win for all fans, networks, and advertisers alike.

2) Should the Colts lose, they can only blame themselves. The Colts and Jets met in Week 16 of the regular season. The Colts, with the #1 seed locked up, had ‘nothing to play for’ and benched many of their starters for the second half (they were winning when Peyton left the game). The Jets needed to win to avoid being eliminated from playoff contention. When the Colts laid down, they pretty much gave the Jets a win and enabled them to be in the position they are today. Now, the big question is - Will sweet irony rise up and derail the Colts quest for a title? If they lose to the Jets, they will fall to the team they did a favor for just a few weeks ago.

The Jets are a good team and deserve credit for all their accomplishments this season. I’m just being selfish and petty. And I can’t stand Mike Greenberg on Mike and Mike in the Morning. Try turning down the homer inside you and being objective for once. You’re on a national radio show, asshole. Oh and your ‘bet’ with your Board Op to change his name to Revis if the Jets win the Super Bowl? Nobody fucking cares. It’s lame. And so are you.

So anyway...do us a favor, Matador.  Don't ruin the Super Bowl.
