TheWizWit Wallpaper Wednes....FRIDAY!

Two straight weeks of Friday Wallpapers -- no biggie smalls.

Not a huge explanation needed here; Placido Polanco has a huge effin' dome. No disrespect intended to a guy who is hitting .383 with 12 RBI so far...just sayin. Yo head is big, PP.

Many thanks again to TWW friend Joey C. for this beaut. Oh, and if you don't get the reference, you need to get back up on your 90's MTV game. Shout out to The Oddities, Sifl and Olly, and Liquid Television.

Meet Your New Defensive End: Brandon Graham

After listening over the past few days about how the Eagles were going to trade up to take one of the two top safeties in this draft, Eric Berry or Earl Thomas, what do your Eagles do? Well they trade up to take a defensive end of course! Philadelphia Eagles fans meet Brandon Graham.

To get to #13, the Birds packaged their #24 pick with both of their third rounders (70th and 87th). A large price to pay, no doubt, but they were able to hold onto both second rounders which is a coup.

Let's Set The Mood - NFL Draft Tonight!

Don't worry, we're not going to bore you with a thousand words on an NFL Draft preview. You've been inundated with a million of those for months now. And they're all pretty much pointless.

So rest assured, this is (yet again) just an excuse for me to post a funny, semi-related video.

2010 Eagles Schedule: An Extremely Premature Prediction

Everything the NFL does creates a ridiculous amount of buzz. Today was no different as the league released the 2010 schedule. The season will open with a rematch of last year's thrilling NFC Championship Game, as the Vikings will visit the Saints on Thursday night. Our boy #5 opens at home on Sunday night against the Cowboys and the first Monday night game features the Ravens at the Jets (there is also that gay second Monday night game that no one on the east coast watches...that won't change this year as the Chargers visit the Chiefs...yuck).

But who are we kidding, all we care about is our Birds. So, without further ado let's take look at what to expect from our 2010 Eagles...

Pot Charges Dropped Against Juqua Parker

If you remember, last year Juqua Parker and Todd Herremans got pulled over for a traffic violation and the cops discovered a bag of marijuana in the car. If filmed, this would have been the lamest stoner buddy comedy of all time (Juqua and Todd: Escape to Wawa). Anyway, Parker admitted it was his, charges were filed, and that was that.

Well today (420) the charges were dropped because the cops unlawfully searched his car. So now Juqua can go about his regularly-mediocre life and hopefully get replaced by one of our second-round picks this year. Hooray for rights! As per the DA:
"You can't just go and search the car. There was no basis for it."

Remember: the police must have probable cause, kids!

Eagles Stay Active, Land LB Sims from Lions

The Eagles just keep makin' moves. Today, the Birds aquired linebacker Ernie Sims from Detroit in a three-team trade. The Eagles will send a fifth round pick to the Broncos (who are sending tight end Tony Scheffler to the Lions, in addition to a seventh rounder) to complete the deal. You can expect Sims to take over at the weakside this year, hopefully giving the Eagles some much needed production from their LB core.

At first glance this seems like a steal for the Eagles, considering Ernie Sims was a first round pick in 2006 and already has three seasons of 110+ tackles on his resume. Of course, he only tallied 49 tackles a year ago and word is the Lions have soured on him as a player. But for a fifth round pick? I'll take the chance that the Lions are just stupid and that the Eagles just got themselves a very good player for a marginal pick. Plus, Sims had a few injuries last year so those 49 tackles were somewhat due to that. If it doesn't work out...it was just a fifth round pick anyway.

The Eagles still hold 10 picks, including five of the first 87 picks, so expect more wheeling and dealing before and during this year's draft. For those who don't know, this year's first round is actually on Thursday this week, in primetime.
