Sixers Trade!!!!!

It's not Amare or McGrady, we aren't getting any more cap room for next year and Willie Green is sadly still a Sixer. However, the Sixers did make a move today, aquiring Jodie Meeks and Francisco Elson from the Bucks for Primoz Brezec, Royal Ivey and a second-round pick.

This trade makes sense for the Sixers, they liked Meeks coming out of college and there is some upside with him. He's undersized for a two-guard (6' 4'') but averaged 23+ points his last year at Kentucky, so the dude can score. It's worth a chance, especially since this team needs someone who can shoot. If he never pans out, oh well.

Everyone else in the trade is pointless, so no need to discuss that. And remember, a second round pick once got us Willie Green, so avoiding them in the future is probably a good idea.

TheWizWit Wallpaper Wednesday!

Holy shit we're back. With premature unwarranted new-found confidence due to a nice pageview boost (many thanks to our buddy Enrico from The700level for the tweet), we forge on with more poorly executed, loosely sports-based mini desktop wallpaper this Wednesday. Why? Well, without mediocrity those more clever and skilled than I wouldn't know how talented they are. Oh...why wallpaper? Didn't you see our last wallpaper, Thaddeus Young and a Shitload of Kittens? Did you already forget how I explained that your desktop wallpaper at work is a privilege that should undoubtedly be abused? How forgetful of you.

This week we present...Losers, con Donovan McNabb!

See that photo? It's of Cole Hamels. In Florida. For Spring Training. Today.

It's back folks. Baseball Season 2010.

Go Phillies.

I Miss Vince

The 2010 Slam Dunk contest will take place tonight, where defending champion *COUGH* bullshit *COUGH* Nate Robinson will return against newcomers Shannon Brown, Gerald Wallace and DeMar DeRozen. Wow, that's awful. Since we no longer get any interesting players in this competition, I felt it necessary to hearken back to one of the great contests. So enjoy Vinsanity's personal coming out party, the 2000 Dunk Contest:

This is just part one, continue onto YouTube to see the rest. This is what a dunk contest is supposed to be. Honestly, how fucking cool was young Vince Carter?

Fox Sports: Hack, Unoriginal Journalism at its' Finest

This was the splash page to Fox Sports' MLB section this morning.  Some idiot got paid to write this article. Think about that. I know sports is at its "slow time" right now.  But seriously, an article entitled "10 Guys Who Would Look Good In Pinstripes"?

Bob Klapisch, have you no pride?

Links for Friday

It's that time of year again, millions of married men receive the only "porn" magazine they can safely display around the house without their wife getting all pissed off and accussing them of, GASP!, masturbating. (Seriously, women need to understand that men, as long as they can get it up, will jerk off. It's nothing against you...we love you. But a dude's gotta do what a dude's gotta do. So unless you wanna bang us at our every beck and call -- which we are totally okay with by the way -- we're going to spank it. We don't care if you get yourself off, too...as long as you videotape it and share it with us.)

Anyways, the beautiful Brooklyn Decker graces this years cover. I still have yet to receive my copy, so SI better get on that. Seriously.

Onto the links:

Less Snow, More Baseball

As Philadelphia and the surrounding area digs itself out of 258 inches of snow today, be comforted by this one fact:

Pitchers and catchers report in one week.

Fuck yea!

TheWizWit Wallpaper Wednesday!

Now don't you go getting excited...this ain't gonna happen every Wednesday. But I wanted to share something with you that's been a passion of mine for some time now -- ridiculous desktop wallpapers on my work computer.

Think about it: at work your internet is regulated as if you were a child. It's worse than China! Wanna check your Facebook? Too bad, it's blocked. You wanna put iTunes on your computer? Oops, blocked again. You wanna see that YouTube clip of Peyton Manning blaspheming at Donald Brown? BLOCKED. Your desktop wallpaper is one of the few places in the workplace that you still have complete autonomy over. It's the last bastion of freedom in the modern workplace. Well, wallpaper and the make-believe smoke break. But still, your desktop wallpaper says a lot about who you are and is a privilege that should most certainly be abused.

So in that spirit, I give you TheWizWit's first desktop wallpaper: Thaddeus Young and a Shitload of Kittens!

Dolla Dolla Bills Yall: Super Bowl Edition

We've finally made it. The Super Bowl has arrived. I have not real rooting interest for either team, I'm just hoping the game is close for all four quarters.

But you don't really care about my sentiments. You're here for insight. This is your last chance to make some money this football season... or help dig your way out of the massive hole you put yourself in.

Go big or go home. To the Shark tank, one last time...
